The Code Cares Program supports eligible Garland residents by completing essential exterior home maintenance projects that many cannot manage on their own. While the program receives strong support from youth volunteers who provide energy and general labor,
Code Cares especially needs adult volunteers with skilled experience in landscaping, light construction, repairs, and project management. Skilled adults are essential to lead teams of ten to fifteen volunteers, ensuring that each project is completed safely, efficiently, and with quality.
Community groups, churches, and service organizations are encouraged to participate by bringing their own tools and equipment, which greatly expands the number and scope of projects the program can take on. By combining skilled leadership with enthusiastic volunteer labor, Code Cares is able to assist more residents, restore more properties, and strengthen neighborhood pride across Garland.
Through this collaborative, hands-on approach, Code Cares empowers neighbors to work together, support vulnerable residents, and make Garland a cleaner, safer, and more connected community.
