The City of Garland Public Library Volunteer Program offers community members the opportunity to support library services, programs, and special events while gaining valuable experience and giving back to the community. Volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the library’s mission by assisting with various tasks that improve accessibility, engagement, and literacy for all visitors.
What We Do
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
- Shelving & Organization – Help keep library materials in order by shelving books, organizing collections, and maintaining a welcoming space.
- Program Assistance – Support library programs such as storytime, book clubs, educational workshops, and special events by helping set up, greet attendees, and facilitate activities.
- Technology Support – Assist patrons with basic computer use, printing, and accessing digital resources.
Who Can Volunteer?
- Individuals 12 years and older (some roles may have age restrictions)
- Students seeking service hours for school or extracurricular programs
- Adults looking to contribute their time and skills to the community
- Groups or corporate teams interested in special volunteer projects
